SF MoMA Art Scope

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

This is great for a person like me, who only ever makes it to the MoMA for openings or special exhibits, and often doesn’t have the time to really take in the breadth of their amazing collection.

See for yourself!

OH YEAH. This is all because of a firm called Stamen Design, which I heard about on some SXSW blog!

Uh… awesome

How come my mom never got me a box of crayons that looked like this? Probably because my mom isn’t Christian Faur.

MAX<>KERNING

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

I love this site. I love the idea and the execution. Resize the window and watch how awesomely the content adapts. Anyone that knows me knows how much I despise all-flash sites, but this one almost gets a free pass (minus 10 points for not having unique URLs for the links at the top).

More Mad Men Stills

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Here are some stills I snagged from Mad Men last week that I’ve been meaning to post. Nothing ever happens in that show, but it sure is beautiful.

True Blood

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

I got really excited yesterday when I found out that Alan Ball’s new project was a vampire show for HBO called True Blood… set in New Orleans…. with Anna Paquin. Chances are it will be good, but even if it turned out to be horribly bad, I just can’t pass up a new vampire series.

And here’s the new title sequence from Digital Kitchen. It’s the usual from them: moody imagery, relevant music selection, etc. The part I really like is when they show off the logotype.

and here’s the full sequence for your viewing pleasure—True Blood.

Noriko Ambe

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

I stumbed across the work of Norike Ambe today. She does amazing work carving up books and blocks of paper. The above piece was a collaborative effort with Ed Rushca. Reminds me of those beautiful topo studies that architects do. Yum.
