A while back I wrote about how I was working with this cool material that you could print and apply to textured surfaces. The first bits of it were just installed and it’s kind of insane how much it ended up as I imagined it in the mock-ups. The stuff really looks great and it’s relatively inexpensive.
The real deal:

Not design, specifically, but I came across a website showing the work of Yukio Miyamoto.
Holy. Crap.
Those files must make Illustrator crash every 20 seconds.

Here are some stills I snagged from Mad Men last week that I’ve been meaning to post. Nothing ever happens in that show, but it sure is beautiful.

My friend Jeanne, a musician, asked me to help her with her new website. I needed a little break tonight from the other work I’m slaving away on, so I did these quick little monogram studies using pieces of musical notation to form letters. Some of the more interesting ones don’t read well as J.G. (her initials).
I need to find some more well-formed musical notation, too. These pieces were from some free web font since I didn’t want to spend my night looking for a nice one.

I got really excited yesterday when I found out that Alan Ball’s new project was a vampire show for HBO called True Blood… set in New Orleans…. with Anna Paquin. Chances are it will be good, but even if it turned out to be horribly bad, I just can’t pass up a new vampire series.
And here’s the new title sequence from Digital Kitchen. It’s the usual from them: moody imagery, relevant music selection, etc. The part I really like is when they show off the logotype.

and here’s the full sequence for your viewing pleasure—True Blood.
